Watching 'The Wrong Guy' with the Right Ones!

The Chief was gone for an extended period of time, part of which was spent out of town with Lord Elgarf and Crazy Father O'Malley. I apologize for the long hiatus but all four of you out there are probably just fine, right? So without fanfare; without politics - especially on this election day that I'm so very glad is here and will be done with soon; without any other talk, I'd like to shout out about a great time with some great friends!

Elgarf, O'Malley and I got together and enjoyed some great times, great meals, great movies and just plain laughs. One of the great movies we watched was a little-known 1997 Dave Foley film, The Wrong Guy which also starred Jennifer Tilley, Colm Feore and Joe Flaherty. Foley's character (Nelson Hibbert) is sure he is about to be promoted to president of his company, but when it doesn't happen, he screams at his boss who passed him over, threatening him during a meeting. Later, he barges into the boss' office where he finds him stabbed to death, and runs from the office holding the bloody weapon. Since this was witnessed by his co-workers, he thinks they have accused him as the killer but he's unaware surveillance cameras revealed the real killer, Hibbert makes for Mexico where he is engaged in a series of coincidental confrontations with the real killer (who thinks Hibbert is some kind of genius killer) and meets up with a small town bank owner's daughter (Tilley). The movie is absolutely hilarious and the premise is just awesome - I really recommend it.

Of course, Elgarf, O'Malley and I did many other things and it was just a great time with some great weather. For the fun Halloween party, Lord Elgarf went as Sweeney Todd - and was very convincing! He had the wig down, blood in all the proper places and two cardboard and tin foil razor blades! Crazy Father O'Malley wore a very generic mask that Elgarf and I were not able to figure but I suspect he had a good time anyway!

All in all, what a great time and a great chance to watch some great movies, enjoy some good meals with some of the greatest friends! I would also like to give a nice thumbs-up to Saw V which we saw in the theater - a great entry into the series with a really cool ending! Thanks, guys, for a great time!

Thanks for the recognition, chief! Yes, it was a great time overall. As for "The Wrong Guy" I must admit I was a little skeptical (The Chief tends to oversell some movies, this was not one of them). Dave Foley is absolutely hilarious, as is Ms. Tilley, but I feel the showstopper was the police chief, a man who was willing to follow a lead no matter how far-reaching or far-fetched be it a nail salon or a strip club. I've got to get my hands on a copy of this.

Welcome back, and thanks for the film recommendation! It sounds like something my husband would enjoy, so I added it to our Netflix queue. I'll let you know how he liked it!

ELGARF: No problem - it was a lot of fun! I'm glad you enjoyed the movie. My apologies if I oversell movies sometimes - we just have different tastes in certain movies and my enjoyment doesn't always coincide with yours and vice versa but many times we find some common likes - and I'm glad this is one of them!

Can't wait to get together again, my friend!

LISA: Thanks! Totally great movie! I would really love to hear what he thought (and you if you do decide to watch it too)!

Good to be back!
